Maleficent left me a Present

That grove to the right is where the door seals. I can't figure out how she got her butt that close to the door? Is she a contortionist too?!

You're probably not allowing for the chicken space-time continuum which says (roughly) "poop in all dimensions" mind you, I'm paraphrasing.

My wife is still cackling about this one. It is also slightly frightening. Poop in all directions........scary.

The Toe

In case you have never noticed, Aurora has a broken mis-positioned toe. She arrived at Fluffy Butt Acres with the toe already broken and healed incorrectly. I was not going to break and reset it. She obviously has gotten along fine with it in that position. However, as she stood on the chair next to me this morning, I noticed that her toe nail seemed much longer than the others. I wonder if I should trim it for her. It does not look like it is wearing off add the others are. What does everyone think? Here it is.

And how would I trim it? I trim my cats' front nails so I am not afraid to do it. I'm just wondering how to trim a chicken's nails as well.

Yes you should trim her nail for her. One of my Silkie hens has curled toes and they don't wear naturally. I trim most of my feather footed chooks, they just don't seem to wear down as quickly as the rest.

Just use a cat nail clipper. Start long and slowly work your way back. Gather some flour or Quik-stop in case you do nip the quick, to stop the bleeding.
