Crossing the Road
Thanks so much. I may have the wife film the trimming this weekend, unless of course I need her to hold miss Aurora. Very helpful. Thanks.
You're very welcome! I'm always glad to help.
My ex-mother-in-law has a little banty hen, with feathered feet, that is going on 10 years old. I was never able to care for the chickens how I wanted to when I lived there so I just let her do things her way, ultimately that poor little girl has NEVER had her nails trimmed and now they are thick and curled under her feet. The little thing screams any time you try to touch her feet, I feel so bad for her, but my ex-mother-in-law knows all and no one can say differently.
come to think of it what you really need when there's a poop in a track is a good chuckle.
I had some roost re-arranging tonight as well. You know how you’re supposed to have 9” of roosting space per chicken or such? My girls decided tonight that 5” was plenty... 7 hens all squashed along a less than 3’ long roost, leaving two ladies on the lower one at opposite ends
as they were almost completely settled for the evening and the Sapphire gal on the lower right is molting fairly heavily and it’s cold I intervened. The big girl on the top right who only had one foot on the actual roost was relocated down a rung.
