Thanks so much. I may have the wife film the trimming this weekend, unless of course I need her to hold miss Aurora. Very helpful. Thanks.

You're very welcome! I'm always glad to help.

My ex-mother-in-law has a little banty hen, with feathered feet, that is going on 10 years old. I was never able to care for the chickens how I wanted to when I lived there so I just let her do things her way, ultimately that poor little girl has NEVER had her nails trimmed and now they are thick and curled under her feet. The little thing screams any time you try to touch her feet, I feel so bad for her, but my ex-mother-in-law knows all and no one can say differently.

My wife is still cackling about this one. It is also slightly frightening. Poop in all directions........scary.
Hehe excellent! I'm delighted to have given her a chuckle :D come to think of it what you really need when there's a poop in a track is a good chuckle.

I'd love a video if you can, Bob. I'm pretty sure I should do Lottie's but am totally clueless. I don't do my cats either. They are pretty good about looking after their own claws.

I will try and make it happen. The nail looks very long and thin to me. I am going to do this.

It is on like Donkey Kong

Lilly was back on the warpath tonight at roosting time. I could hear thumps from the other side of the pool so I flipped on the camera and caught her first throwing Hattie off of the roost (Hattie was in Lilly's spot) and then patrolling up and down the roost to keep Hattie from getting on it. I think I caught Lilly tossing her off around 3 or 4 times. Aurora gets up at one point while Lilly is patrolling but Lilly is so focused on Hattie that she really doesn't bother with her.

Unfortunately, things tend to flow downhill and you can see Hattie taking her frustrations out on Aurora when Lilly does finally let Hattie get up. The video is 7 minutes long because after she is knocked off by Hattie, Aurora takes a long time to finally find a spot to roost. She even left the coop and ate some more grass to kill time while things inside settled down.

If you look close at the beginning while the Lilly vs Hattie battle is going on you can see Maleficent peaking in the door trying to decide if it is safe to come in or not.

@Kris5902 I am sorry to post yet another interesting video while you have no data. Tomorrow night I will ask Lilly to be nice so there is nothing for me to film.

That’s ok... I’ll have catch up video time once it re-sets... ;) I had some roost re-arranging tonight as well. You know how you’re supposed to have 9” of roosting space per chicken or such? My girls decided tonight that 5” was plenty... 7 hens all squashed along a less than 3’ long roost, leaving two ladies on the lower one at opposite ends :he as they were almost completely settled for the evening and the Sapphire gal on the lower right is molting fairly heavily and it’s cold I intervened. The big girl on the top right who only had one foot on the actual roost was relocated down a rung.

Why it will let me upload pictures, but not watch videos I don’t understand :idunno

It amuses me that we occasionally feel we need to rearrange our girls roosting arrangements! I've been meddling recently in order to ensure my broody doesn't get straight in a nesting box.
