As soon as the automated door opened an inch, Hattie's head was out. I wish I had video of how she flattened herself to squeeze out. I was too shocked to record it.


There are a lot of song birds around today and Hattie is extremely jumpy.

...she takes them somewhere and abandons them to predators, just so she doesn’t have to pay anything to feed them or have them put down.

They look so happy to be out.

A lot of our native birds are loud. My girls used to give the alarm for everything from kookaburras to parrots until they got used to them. They rarely alarm now unless its a call they don't recognise.

Can the Under Coop Area be Secured?

I believe that I can "Fort Knox" the run area under the coop. This would give the 3 of them some daytime free range while I try to trap the killer. I am going to evaluate it closer tonight.
