Sounds like you are experiencing rooster problems like Shad's roosters do with those unruly hens!

I am a very incompetent rooster that is for sure!

I have begun trying to source fertile eggs for Sydney and I have requested three. It just so happens to match what she is sitting on right now. So I got that correct.

How do I go about moving her when the time comes? Do I pick her off of the nest and put her on the different eggs, do I move the current eggs as well? Does anyone have any advice?

Tidbitting for Friends

I got a heavy dose of chicken watching in yesterday. One of the things I noticed was Lilly behaving very rooster-like and tidbitting. Of course I did not get any video. I'm going to have to stage a setting where she will be tempted to do it so I can grab some.

Yesterday, I flipped one of the blocks that I have lining the coop over to see what goodies were hidden there. One of the items was a grub. Lilly found it and did a perfect rooster imitation. Making the tidbit call and repeatedly picking it up and dropping it until Sansa came and ate it.

Lilly just did it again this morning and Sansa came running again and ate whatever it was.

I feel like I have seen Lilly do this before but I'm going to try and track to see if it is for Sansa in particular or anyone else as well.

I would love video of that. Actually I would love a video of a rooster tidbitting - I get the concept but haven't experienced it as I don't have any roos. There is definitely no food sharing among the Princesses - rather the opposite I would say!

It was post number 150. Wow. The link is below. You can see him pick up the popcorn and then drop it, pick it up and drop it. If no hen eats it, then he does.

A Peaceful Bath

It was clear that Sydney wanted to take a bath but Sansa and Lilly were not interested in letting her do so. Remembering how much Mrs BY Bob used to enjoy a uninterrupted bath when the girls were little I thought i would help Sydney out. So I arranged for the other hens to disappear so Sydney could have some alone time.

I broke out the meal worms and spread them on the deck for everyone. This cleared some special time for Sydney. Here she is enjoying her soak.

Y'all have me really interested in trying it. However I have the feeling the only true way to eat it is in Australia with Aussies!!
