I heard Stanley's baby cheeping! Which of @CrazyChookChookLady 's hens is the biological mother? Sydney is wonderful, I love how she's listening and talking to the babies. I think Sansa was responding to the cheeping eggs too.

The egg is saying, why does mama sound like a worn out pool pump? Very strange. Is she a smoker? Maybe she's got a cold. Mama, have you got a cold?

Sounds like peeping to me Bob.
You may have chicks in the morning. That's when I tend to find them.
Be aware that if she does hatch and the chicks get to the front of the nest, she may well peck at them. New mums get very anxious when the chicks are at the front. They know the chicks should be at the back usually in with the eggs. In straw nests quite often the chick can't get back underneath mum and at that point should it happen, you need to intervene. If the chick stays out it will die of hypothermia, or get injured or killed by mum trying to get it where it should be.
If you have to move a chick, do not pick it up from above. Slide your hand underneath the chick taking great care that you do not damage it's legs. Usually you can get the chick to clamber onto your open palm, that's how you should lift them.
You will need to lift mum with the other hand enough to put the chick under her rear end, but not directly under her keel bone.
Unless such an emergency should happen you should not attempt to handle the chicks until they are fully mobile and out of the nest, tempting though it may be.

Thanks. I do feel blessed that this is happening. I'm so lucky that @CrazyChookChookLady and I connected. Frankly Stanley made this all possible. 😉

Stanley was very happy to have helped!! LOL

I can't wait to see the fluffy butts in person! My Ginger girl is sitting on I think 10 or 12 now. The other hens kept laying their eggs in with hers so I just let them go. What's a dozen more chickens...

Nothing so Far

Here is what i was seeing. The first clip has Sidney talking with no one around.

Some time later Sansa showed up and got in the nest box next door. During that time frame Sydney was more animated. Check this out.

Sansa left and things settled. Then Sydney left to have her daily bath, etc.

While she was off the nest it seemed like Sansa came in and filled in for her.

I did manage to look at the eggs while they were uncovered and saw or heard nothing. 🙁

Here is the exchange. You will see me check on things because I wanted to make certain that Sydney got back on the eggs without delay. So I peak in at the end to confirm that she is on them. I left the camera running as I went out to check.

Sansa has not laid an egg today despite being in the coop twice. I love the way sydney looks over the wall to check the other nesting box. :love
The more animated is Sydney feeling the chicks move around in the eggs. Mel used to stick her head underneath and shout at them to keep the noise down.:D

Kris replied as well. I am picking them up at these points.

:13, :27, :32, :35, :41, :46, :52, :55. The last four are the most loud and line up with Kris' times. The earlier ones are more faint.

Next time I'm turning off the pool pump. :barnie

I also had a fair amount of background noise (rain, roosters, and DH) here to contend with and kept losing the time bar... 😋 so excited!!!
