I think you would have more takers if you broke them into small pieces Bob. That's what I do anyway. Walnuts are fattening I should mention.Walnuts
Thanks to @Shadrach talking about how much his flocks like walnuts i decided to see if mine would like them. Not surprisingly certain hens loved them. More surprisingly one did not.

Hattie gave me the most disappointed look she has ever done. She was just disgusted with me and my icky walnuts.

I filmed the flock last night eating some. I was late getting out to them, work, and Phyllis had already gone to bed so she is missing.
When they grow up they look like very large, very 'robust' guinea-pigs. They have big claws for digging or for defending against foxes. They can be quite destructive.
YupWow. Are all your animals moving with you?
How old is she? Sydney was only 9 months old when she started setting her nest. Is she younger than that or is my Sydney an overachiever? It does. She's not very good at it yet.
Don't try to drag me back in to this! I said I was going to stop!Teal’c juggling?![]()
I didn't even try for blue eggs, they just happened. I guess that makes me a fancy person pretender? It's a fine club to belong too. We are not fancy people with exotic egg colors. Just normal folks.
See how easy it is to self-delude.I so wanted colored eggs.
They are also quite expensive. The standard now is no more than 2 per hen. I am not going to beg them to eat them. If a hen is too lazy to break them up, i have plenty who are willing to do so. Their loss.I think you would have more takers if you broke them into small pieces Bob. That's what I do anyway. Walnuts are fattening I should mention.![]()
If you would like to be a pretender I will allow, but those weekend teacups are pretty fancy. Just saying.I didn't even try for blue eggs, they just happened. I guess that makes me a fancy person pretender?
Ivy had her first bout of broody recently. She really embraced some aspects but not others. She was a big fluffy ball, stopped laying and did a lot of tuk tukking around, but she didn't sit. Well, come to recall, she took maybe 3 times longer to get up after laying her final ten or so eggs, but she didn't try to sit overnight. How old is she? Sydney was only 9 months old when she started setting her nest. Is she younger than that or is my Sydney an overachiever?
PS (Is it setting or sitting?)
