I just woke up from the worst anxiety dream; I dreamed that Jasper kept trying to kill the chickens! He ripped a hole in the dog crate (?), then he kept getting out and attacking them, the pain meds I have had expired, it was a day Dr Nikki wasn’t working, it was getting late and had got dark, I was supposed to be going out to dinner with my family (and our house had become my parents house), I was extremely pleased to wake up and find it wasn’t real! :th
You need a nap from all that stress. 😉

They will disturb the neighbors.

I used to say my neighbour had a quiet rooster, remember? Everyone on byc said that couldn't be right. So I asked a disinterested third party about Olaf the quiet rooster, and she said, "huh? Olaf wasn't quiet, he crowed every day." on further questioning the neighbour admitted, yes, he crowed every day, but only twice, so he was indeed a quiet rooster 🤔🤫🤭🙄

This provides a link between Covid and the studies you mentioned a while back.

This is sad truth of it all. I knew people at Melinta. Another company where I know people is also hanging on by their finger tips. We had a real rush of small companies that developed antibiotics that were very promising and they are all going bankrupt. COVID is actually accelerating this elsewhere. Such promise going to waste. Sad. ☹

I didn't get any pictures of Donk's nest. I forgot to take the camera when I cleared out the eggs.
Of course, Donk is still laying and she's got another site, probably where her daughter Knock is laying. It was just too hot to stand about outside waiting for one of them to go and lay. Donk did go into the coop tonight though. If I'm lucky the pair will wait to sit until Sunday which is when the weather people say the temperatures will be bearable.
Tackle has been in all day and a good part of it confined to the pet carrier. She's been very patient and tonight got into the nest box at dusk. She's had about two hours of the day out and about in my house. Thankfully there is a marked improvement in her walking tonight.
The problem with her limping so badly isn't so much any pain she may be in, it's she wasn't keeping up with the tribe. A limping hen on her own is hawk bait. She needs at least to be able to move from cover spot to cover spot and the past couple of days I haven't been here enough to watch out for her. Tomorrow should be better.
I gave her a dose of Metacam last night and another this morning which seems to have helped.
This was her last night.

I may have missed some posts. Why is Tackle limping Shad?

We had a Cornish Rex for a couple of years when I was a teenager. His name was Baxter and he had the most beautiful nature. He and another cat called Cyber (or Sibur as my mum spelt it) belonged to a friend of my mum who went to America for a couple of years, so she gave them to us. She had a property and one night someone was spotlight-shooting on her property. Baxter walked into the spotlight and got shot. He lived but he had shrapnel in his body. One night we think he jumped off a fence and a piece of shrapnel shifted and killed kim. He was so lovely-natured, and so soft. :(
:eek::mad: :hugs

Poor Baxter.

What on Earth were the hunters thinking I wonder? Did they think he was a kangaroo? Or a feral cat?

Lacy is a very small cat and her fur is soft and rippled, like wide corduroy. She likes to keep warm so sleeps on my youngest's neck or head. 🤣

Thank goodness it was just a dream. Anxiety dreams are very tiring aren't they? I find I really don't want to go back to sleep after one for fear of having another!

Most of mine involve trying to catch trains...

I'm so sorry! I hate dreams like that. I have the most vivid dreams, I can taste, smell, and feel in my dreams. I often wake up trying to figure out if it was a dream or real...

Oh yes, That's awful. Especially when you are half waking up and thrashing around trying to solve the dream problem and your heart is racing....😖

Usually in my anxiety dreams I am running late for something.

I was worried about Tsuki on Wednesday morning. She didn't seem herself.

She didn't push the others away from the breakfast bar. She wasn't interested in cracked corn or (gasp!) mealy worms. She seemed rather subdued and not her usual bossy self.

I offered her some coconut oil which she took a couple of pecks at but everyone else crowded around and scoffed it down.

I administered some lubricant to the rear end in case she was blocked up (she was most offended!) and kept a close eye on her.

She seemed more lively in the afternoon but this morning she was back to her bossy self.
She hasn't laid an egg since June but she did have a poo mark on her bottom several hours after my ministrations.
Any ideas what might have been troubling her?

Here are some photos of Tsuki bossing the others around this morning to reassure Bob.

"Geroff!" Poor Edwina
