I once attended a lecture by some cyber expert - think he was a hacker who worked for one of the banks testing their systems - anyway his advice on the best way to protect your identity on line is to lie. Simple as that!
I do that all the time. But I shouldn't be coerced into dishonesty by tech designers. Instead, I should be able to dictate the ethics of my conduct.

My Heart is Warm

Good Saturday morning… At least here in California. My heart is warm for two reasons as follows:
  • Little Mill had started starving herself during molt just like last year. This morning I mixed a bowl of half layer crumble half baby bird formula made nice and soupy with warm water and she ate heartily! Here she is last at the bowl! I’m not sure why she won’t eat regular dry feed while she’s molting.

  • Though Bridge is also molting and doesn’t want to be handled, Buttercup is completely done with her molt and does want to cuddle. It’s a shame she always has a poopy butt, because the fluff is fabulous otherwise.

I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only one who goes out in my pajamas to tend to my chooks. Who has time to get dressed when there's chickens wanting attention?! 🤣

A few people have mentioned that they like the names of the chickens here. Here is a list of those I can easily recall.

Males
Cillin. Treacle. Twine. Major. Able George. Perch. Oswald. Harold. Notch. Punch. Mag. Twitch. Rip. Tarn. Random. Beano. Wort. Sidney.

Females
Fat Bird. Blue Spot. Dink. Donk. Dent. Knock. Myth. Nolia. Hinge. Bracket. Rivit. Lock. Tack. Mel. Fudge. Tackle. Moon. Hurry. Tap. Gedit. Fray. Fay. Otic. Mini Minx. Mora. Ruffles. Punky. Tan. Ziggy. Thunder. Lightning. Dandy. Rosehip. Cheepy. Skunk. Where. Tear. Crack. Pinch. Tan.
I might start stealing these 😁
Me too.

I've bookmarked the list for further study...

I'm not sure who would have been mating with her. There are no roosters here anymore.
Speaking of mating I saw some interesting behaviour yesterday.

We all know that Tsuki is a bully. Edwina is at the bottom of the pecking order and is often chased off by Tsuki. Yesterday Tsuki mounted Edwina (as a rooster does) and held onto her comb with her beak. Then her vent puffed up and she um... well it looked like she was trying to mate. 🐓

Does this happen very often among hens?

Tsuki's "spurs" are starting to grow again too. 🤔

Edit to add that Edwina did the shake thing too when Tsuki dismounted.
