@NCLady52 When you get a moment we would all like to see some photos of your cackling hens and their rooster(s).that's funny! What are they saying when the hens are cackling? I've always wondered.

Yes.Is there a noticeable difference between ISA Browns and RIRs?
Even more reason for me not to think of Alice as anything other than uniquely Alice!I think that Alice, with feathers, is one of the most beautiful hens any of us has.

Maggie has a black tail (well she did before it fell out in her molt).ISA browns also have white tails, which RIRs don't have.
RIRs can have deep brown to black tails as wellMaggie has a black tail (well she did before it fell out in her molt).
I know I've been lost in space for a while, but do you now have a rooster? He's sure a pretty boy!To start your Saturday off right.....
Got to love bitsas. Won't ever get the breed wrong.I can't play - my knowledge of chicken breeds is limited to:
- Leghorns (because of you)
- Legbars (because of all of you)
- Campines (because of @Ribh)
- Naked necks (because of @WhoDatChick and Trump, obviously)
- Rhode Island Reds (because of the vet who explained that Maggie was bred in order to die young)
- Bitsas (because of @MaryJanet and @Shadrach)
I think that is all I could have a shot at recognizing with the exception of the Bitsas which would just have to be my default guess for all other chickens. I will keep trying to learn!
