Spoiled Princesses!
Last nights score was Rodents 0 : RC 1. But I can't help feeling that RC is losing. Where do they all come from? I saw a live one on camera after the snap got his/her buddy.
This morning after removing the traps for the day I let the Princesses out and they looked at me with disappointment. "Mom, you have given us fresh mouse steak every day this week. We appreciate the effort and all, but how about a bit of variety? A lobster tail or some caviar for example. Just suggestions, we leave it to your imagination, but steak every day is just a bit boring."
Sigh.

I love the dialog. Mice replicate quite quickly. You may just be keeping pace with them. 🤷‍♂️

Aaargh! Maybe I need to put out more traps at the same time. I usually have the zapper inside the coop and a snap trap in the run. But I could litter the run with snap traps at night and try and get more than one at a time.
Go RC! Double down. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Lazy Saturday

Aurora stayed in bed late again today. 🤔 I don't know what to make of it.

I would place more traps to try and get ahead. At least for a while. Once you are ahead you might be able to scale back.

I like this new word....."rodenteers"....... 😹 I believe I may adopt and use that one.
You're welcome to, but the idea came from reading @aart, who uses the term "chickeneering" for what we do and "chickeneer" for who we are in posts here. As in, and this may be an exact quote from her helping someone in a post, "Are you new to chickeneering?" Great term!
Also appropriate would be rodent-wrangling / rodent-wrangler, if you can handle the two r's...

So handsome! And a good boy, I assume?
The best! He raised Dean and Cass after an emergency weather related flock integration when they were 10 weeks or so, He is great with other cockerels and Roosters (mostly) and is very conscious of rounding up the girls for bedtime.
You have seriously beautiful birds, Kris!
Thank you! I rarely take time to photograph them, or I don’t have my phone on when when an opportunity presents itself, so the Chicken Pic Tax is reminding me to take a little to appreciate and record them.

take a little to appreciate and record them.
I was looking for pictures of Dolly the other day and realized I have so few. I was quite sad to think that I had not adequately captured our time together. It's good to take a moment now and then to appreciate them. :hugs
