After BY Bob’s little driving tour of Hershey, I thought you might like to see a dam we visited today. It is my FIL’s birthday so we had a BBQ picnic, and then checked out the dam afterwards. It was built between 1918 and 1926 and cost £945,000 in old money.

Wow, that's a beautiful dam. The sample of sandstone really brings home the size of it.

This is awesome!

I’m not sure. Another chook friend thought it might be pollen, or the Pestene dust. I’m keeping an eye on her; some days she doesn’t sound rattly.
Well now you have a record for next year. You can search back in the thread. I'm wondering if it isn't pollen as well.

My back is doing much better now, I am almost walking properly again. I’m down to just severe muscle pain for the most part and alternating hot and cold is helping. @BY Bob you wouldn’t recall my previous back issue, or our adventures with trainee paramedics (yes, they need to learn and practice somewhere!) as it happened in 2014 and I didn’t join BYC until 2018. I had another of my rescues end up ‘somewhat eggbound’ with a shelless egg she couldn’t pass yesterday. I helped her pass it by gently pulling the membrane and bringing her into the warm big coop. Walking her there hunched over in little spurts was the hardest part of the whole endeavor. She is receiving supplemental calcium daily now. I also managed to finish off making my chicken prawn gumbo (all its missing is sausage and okra) by putting a cutting board on my lap to chop the veggies. Here is a broth making shot from Wednesday night, local prawn shells and our homegrown chicken bones.View attachment 2438474
Thst looks wonderful Kris. Yummy. :drool

I have been very remiss with FluffyButt Friday photos. Sorry ByBob 😔

Tsuki wasn't very co-operative , but I did get to try doing that-tap-on-the-subject focus thing with my phone.

This one was focused on Deana

and this was focused on Tsuki. Makes some difference with the lighting doesn't it?

It was a revelation when I discovered the focus circle. Look how stunning Tsuki is in that second photo and the feather definition on Deana in the first one.

Ooooh ByBob, how is your coop building article coming along?

Hubby has been pondering what I want and we started our new coop today. We are recycling bits of wood and ply left over from building the shed and the frame of our old water bed. We needed to buy new stuff for the coop's frame unfortunately.

It will be raised up on legs for ease of cleaning and to discourage rodents etc. This will be the floor.

Excellent. That looks very sturdy. Take lots of pictures. I think I still have some lumber from an old water bed around here. They a were built well. Great recycling wood.

My article is done except for the plans. My daughter promised them to me on Monday.
