Still 18 inches for us. It's this coming up the coast @RoyalChick ?
I haven't been following its path but someone said it is coming up the coast and then turning inland and it is inland where it gets serious. We have a local 'alert' system and it just alerted the 24" asking people to check generators etc. So that is my only source of info at this stage. When I am closer to fitting the car in the garage I will look at the weather channel.

It's her stance ~ the way she is striding out like she is Queen of all she surveys! :D
Yes she was long striding there. 😆 She was just a teenager at the time. Jabber is behind her. Hattie can move with purpose if need be and she had someplace to be in that photo.

They have been living together for almost 10 months now. I would hope things would start to settle in but instead they got worse.

My other fear and it is not rational at all; I understand that. However, lately it feels like every good hen in my flock suffers some tragedy and I'm left with the bullies. This scares me for Hattie. Yes it is irrational. Yet it still lurks there under the surface.
I'm sorry. Those are tricky thoughts.

It's good that you have labelled superstitious though.

I'll try and check. Maybe I can find out in between calls.

Yes, if you use a red light at night with chickens they don't react like they do with a normal white light. They don't start jumping down or crowing like @RoyalChick hens. It makes it very easy to handle them. Most head lamps have a red setting.
Excellent! Imust get one with a red setting. The one my brother shared with me only had white.

I think that's it. :hugs

Now that I know everyone is ok, I almost want to cheer when Hattie wins the fight with Aurora. The nice hen won for once. :yesss:

After watching Sydney just get shoved to the side by Sansa, it is nice to see Hattie kept her spot.
I worry about Alpia. She is incredibly sweet but she is never flighty & so easy to handle it scares me. She should be much warier for her own safety but she just isn't!
