so her pretty little blue eggs are always covered in s**t and so are effectively brown eggs

Maybe that is what is happening with Aurora's eggs! Maybe they are actually blue!

But yesterday she finally produced an egg. A teeny, tiny egg.

That is just the best! Congratulations!

She makes a mean nest. Very diligent.
