If anyone does, I will let you know how it goes... I would guess stealing the resources from precious children, or a comment about DH and I being childless? You really never know what is going to set some people off here.

I asked if the road to the farm was “passable” a few days after our snowstorm, if there were any trees down across it. It turned into an all out keyboard brawl. I took it down after a few hours, and then the people “discussing” the safety began putting up trolling postings to support their opinions on the road safety and tagging me in their posts. (I blocked a few people that day, that I hardly even know). Other fun “explosions” have happened over innocent inquiries about buying a type of knitted wool sweater from local artisans, that’s apparently cultural appropriation. Can we open the rec center to people in need during the 4 day power outage for hot meals and cellphone charging? Rec center committee went with Covid says no... stay home and freeze if you have electric heat/stoves that’s too bad (it’s our emergency shelter building with big generators and propane appliances). That escalated quickly. A young woman’s choice in relationships was publicly paraded and demeaned... that became a name calling/bullying situation that it took four days to have removed by FB.

And again... so grateful everyone here is so respectful, even when discussing things we don’t agree completely on.
Wow. That is ridiculous.

Oh my goodness, I am belatedly heartbroken for you @BY Bob 😭😭
She was a lovely and special young lady going off all you have shared on here and I’m deeply sorry you lost Mal this way 🥺:hugsgone too soon in life but will forever be in your heart.
It will be one year on the 24th. I will remember her every year around now as it is very close to my birthday. I have had 2 extra special hens since 2013 and she was one of them. I've been thinking about her a lot recently and to be blunt, I feel cheated. There was so much left for us to do together. For example it should have been her raising chicks this past summer (no disrespect to Sydney).

I love my tribe (dazzle, blessing?) of hens. None of them are close to me in that special way and knowing their personalities there is almost no potential of it developing. That's OK too. It's not fair to expect that. But to have that relationship and then lose it so quickly is very hard. She quite possibly was my best friend, someone who could be counted on to alway cheer me up. There were no problems in the world when Maleficent was grooming my hair, sitting in my lap, or stealing food from Lilly or Hattie.

Now I’m crying...such a beautiful farewell to a beautiful girl 💜
Thanks. I'm so glad you read this now and commented. It is nice to remember her this morning.

I’ve been having quite a bit of running at each other, hackles up and standing off beak to beak with Belle and Snow (my 2 11ish week old pullets)
I’m assuming this is them working out the pecking order after Big Bad Bokky (ISA hen)?
First time integration for me so observing and learning what these interactions mean. They are thick as thieves all day but then randomly one will flap along the ground at the other and start the ‘chest bumping’ almost.
Absolutely. Maleficent and Aurora went through that stage. They will work it out. I find the flying chest bump kind of cool.

Alrighty. I have hit page 400 in this thread but being so focussed on catching up (and there is still a lot to go) I feel I am missing out on interacting with the ‘now’ thread and what you guys are sharing so I will try to switch between.
Apologies I keep posting replies to things from a year or so ago! I know it can throw the flow of the thread off but things I have come across in my early @BY Bob thread trawl have resonated with my current situation so I felt compelled to comment/ ask questions etc.
I already feel I have learnt a lot by starting at the beginning (page 1) on here, my flock dynamic with the new pullets being one of them, so thank you to all you guys for posting such informative and unique observations in here.
I know I am new to all of the threads but I want to say a big thank you again to @MaryJanet for inviting me to join her flock thread when I joined BYC recently, which has now led me to here also ☺ and thank you to @BY Bob for letting me join his flock and read about the happenings on Fluffy Butt Acres 😊
I realised just now that I never asked if I could join in. MJ asked me into hers and then I kinda just smashed my way in here and I apologise for such an impolite entrance and etiquette.

Anyway, to show my appreciation I took the first fluffy butt shot of Snow ever today (she’s 11ish weeks) even though her tail is covering it a bit but I think I have discovered that she is last in the order and my Belle (Babybel) is perhaps second even though she is smaller and very ADHD (plus being cheeky and so cute)
I crashed the thread too, lol. Don’t feel bad. I also end up posting on “yesterday’s news” because I am always struggling to keep up.
Either I read slower, or I am not on enough.
