Glad they are getting on. My guess is Phyllis could creep her way out through that space if she chose to.
Mine are trapped but for the more manual reason that I can’t face the snow which is now well over 2’. And they won’t go out because the covered runs are covered in snow - quite deep in places.
I will go out and explore a little later and see if I can dig part of the way to them.

wow! I’m guessing you accounted for those sorts of snow loads when you designed the palace... that’s insane. Do you need to remove the snow from the roofs? Can you hire a local guy to clear it for you? How long is the stuff supposed to stay for? 🥶🥶🥶

He's allergic. I can understand how that wouldn't enamour them.
Norwegian Forrest cats do not have fur, they have hair. Hence many people with cat allergies can have them as pets. As another plus, they seem to share some personality traits with certain posters on this thread. 😉

Yes - you set the pitch based on snow loads as well as the support and in the open run I put cattle panel behind hardware cloth so the hardware cloth wouldn't bend under the snow load.
I think it is all good and no need to intervene.
There are only two things I didn't think of: the snow blowing in through the gable ventilation in a high wind - I have baffles but I didn't think to close them before the storm started; and secondly agreeing with the snow plough guy how to leave me access to the Palace. I have dug my way in and am balancing on scrap plywood. It works, but is less than ideal!
