Have you tried scrambled eggs?I’ve offered her cheese and mealy worms today and she made her excited clucking noises. Turned her beak up at the porridge though.![]()

Have you tried scrambled eggs?
Hopefully she will enjoy them!Yes, but hadn’t thought of that recently. I’ll cook some up now!
Out of 9 eggs, 6 hatched. Did eggtopsies this evening just to see where they went wrong. 2 of them looked like they didn't do anything at all, but I somehow missed it when I candled. The last one was fully developed but never made the internal pip. It was a huge chick though, and its head and neck was in a weird position so think it was just to big to pip. In total i have 10 chicks from a total of 30 eggs set in 2 batches. All 15 of the eggs from my buff orp hen Butter did absolutely nothing. I'm wondering if in trying to keep the humidity lower in order for the Marans eggs to have a better chance if I set those up for failure.@RebeccaBoyd I've been kind of all over the place today and somehow missed how your hatch went?
Well, I'm glad that you were able to hatch 6! I wonder if you would have more success if you try and hatch the Marans separate from the other eggs next time! I'm no expert, just wondering and interested in learning! We will be trying to hatch Marans and Maran/Cream Legbars next year!Out of 9 eggs, 6 hatched. I'm thinking about the same. Going to take a break for about a month before I load it back up. I'm hoping by then Henrietta will have started back up laying so I can throw hers, Butters, Snickers and maybe if they have came up to size a few of Bread's eggs in. The resulting chicks would be half Marans. Each hens egg has distinctive color and shape so I could test all their fertility at once. After that, rest of the season, Marans only.Well, I'm glad that you were able to hatch 6! Couldn't actually see your pictures but I have no difficulty imagining thigh high drifts having just come back in from giving scrambled egg to the Princesses.
You are going to have one hell of a time with leaks as soon as it thaws inside. I am so sorry you have to deal with this!![]()
My internet is cranky... I think, I’ve been having lots of trouble uploading pics since the last update, it looks fine until I hit post. Trailer shouldn’t have any new leaks I hope. And this is our last winter in it. One way or another. Still burns the 7 mb of data each attempt though?I had the same problem, the link read as an oops
Glad I read aheadHave you tried scrambled eggs?
Zazzle makes jigsaws out of photos. You should pick out a favorite picture of your chickens...I'm sure you could get a puzzle made out of it someplace!
I'll be watching for your hatch! I hope it goes better for you the next time!I'm thinking about the same. Going to take a break for about a month before I load it back up.
