Sussex are known to be easy to handle if not cuddly. Perhaps with some work you can earn her trust so you can pat her. I can pat Hattie now and I could not at first.

There is a dialysis clinic in Alice Springs (I think; I’ll have to check) and they have a tribe of chickens that enjoy being cuddled. They have had at least one Sussex that is happy to be cuddled by the patients.

Sansa is not Herself

I have commented before that Sansa was stand-off-ish with me. Watching her interact with the whole flock yesterday tells me it is not just me.

I took the flock a great snack yesterday and split it into 2 bowls so that all could partake. Sadly Sansa was not herself. Normally she is a bully and pushes those below her around. This did not happen yesterday.

She will be getting a full check over. But I am wondering if being in close proximity to Aurora has resulted in a loss of confidence. You can see how quickly she reacts to get away from Aurora. Neither Sydney nor Phyllis react the same when Aurora intimidates them.

If anyone has any thoughts, I am interested.
You're right. That is not our normal Sansa. :(

Is she molting? Maggie was a bit like that with her molt. It is not just her interaction that is odd - even when she has free access to the food she just isn't that interested.
I do hope she is OK. :love :fl

Yes, I noticed she’s not really interested in eating. Does she have a favourite food? Can you offer her that?

On the lighter side... cluckingham castle shire, is doing well. Babies are snuggling, rocks-Anne likes to be held again. Beetov-Hen is biting me in jealousy, and the roosters are (Being roosters) it’s all good!
I am so glad to hear it.

She’s skittish compared to Belle but I’ll do my best to win her over.
Thanks for the advice, I think more evenings out with them might help with that a little, and treats of course 😉
