Bunny is very grumpy but proud of herself. She had a 100% hatch and is a momma to 6 new babies. Let them out in the yard for the first time this evening and grabbed a few pics.

Overlook my messy floors, but I had to share these photo's I just took. Butter is not only standing, she's eating while doing it. I know her stance clearly states she's still in some pain and she's not entirely comfortable. She has a long way to go to be 100% but she's trying and is a far cry from the hen Thursday night I'd thought had given up her will to live.View attachment 2635616View attachment 2635618View attachment 2635620

Why am I up? It's only 5 in the morning. Woke up at 4:30. Can't get back to sleep. Good time to catch up .. somewhat. Seeing some great news on mama hens, new chicks, and a hen healing.

Chicks on their own are cute but chicks with their mum are almost too much. I just love that picture of them all lined up. Oh my gosh.

Oh my flock... a handful
But I love it. 35 chickens total - 30 hens, 5 roosters. We love the adventure of hatching new ones every year. At one point we had 48 chickens total. We have enough space, but just got an overwhelming amount of eggs, though we have a big family (16 with in-laws and nieces and nephews) Our flock is docile, "bell"-trained (come when we call them), and some even enjoy being held!
Overall, enjoying the life with chickens. Fresh eggs are the best!
