One of the turkeys is injured. Perhaps that’s why they have not moved on. One is limping and appears to have something hanging down it’s chest, maybe a flap of skin or something. I thought I saw that yesterday , but it was too hard to tell.. Since I see it again today, along with the lamp, I’m pretty sure I got it right. Poor thing.

Look at all that wonderful space you have! I love it! I pay $2800 to rent modest, rustic home that I don’t even own. As much as I love it here, I might need to be open to moving out of the area someday... maybe in retirement.

I'm counting down the days until we can move somewhere less expensive...not sure where or when that will be, but it sure isn't gonna be here!

Will have pictures later today, but I've let the 28 3 week olds out into the new pen for the first time. It's very warm already and they need room to play. It is so comical to watch them figure out they have room to test out their wings and they are flying and hopping all over the place.

Only had three go into lockdown. Most of his weren't fertile. Now I have someone that wants me to incubate 48 eggs for him. I'm so done for this year. Anyway, held this little one up to take a look...too cute. Nn..View attachment 2646032

Broody Update

For everyone who was excited to see Phyllis hatch (count me in this group), I have bad news. She gave up the nest.

I guess she decided it was not a much fun as she thought it would be. She has been off all day and it's 3 pm. Besides a fashion plate like Phyllis can't be weighed down with children.

I must admit, I'm kind of disappointed. I think she would would have cut a fabulous figure with chicks. Alas it is not to be.

She out again unencumbered by children.

She at least tried it. And I got to muss her hair finally!
