Thanks, it appears that it is actually occurring right now. A thunderstorm came through earlier and it had to be put on hold but it looks like they are going forward as we speak! Check out this photo I was able to take at great risk to myself........

Emily update: she’s out with the other chickens now (Jaffar is staying very close to her) she’s moving around much better now, and the others are not picking on her.

Exactly. Well said.

That happened to me when my hens first began laying. One of them layed an egg with only a membrane holding it together. No shell!
And every once in awhile I will get a strange egg. I got two very tiny eggs which had a tiny yolk that wasn’t “together”, and I have had a strange shaped egg or two.
I don’t worry about it because I normally get normal eggs.

They aren't so happy with me Bob. They just had a wash with cider vinegar salt and water. Wattles legs, feet and their bottoms. Then all had a rub with coconut oil. I'm not so popular tonight

I had one soft shell not me but one of the girls . I'm guessing it's a one off as already said
