1 in 20, 5% please don't raise my odds.Oh dear. Don't jinx it. Remember the 10% brown eggs.
Also, from experience, teeny, tiny (blue) eggs.
I do not know if I should laugh at this or cry. That cat is acting like my girl Jynx. She's bi-polar, and loves you when SHE wants to love you. Beware if you hops on you asking to be petted. You have exactly 3 strokes, from the top of her head to her mid back. If you go any farther or more then 3 you get this reaction.Caturday ok!

I do have a regular leaf rake, this blue one is about the size of a racquet.Maybe you need something a bit larger. Have you thought of using a tennis racquet?![]()
I'm sad to say I wasn't knowledgeable about birds until getting my chickens. I only recognised, the sparrows magpies thrush and Robin's. My friend had an unusual species for this part of the world in her garden I will ask her next time I see her.If you were in Australia I might think it was a Satin Bower bird. It looks about the same shape and size.
What sort of birds are local to your part of the UK?

I most certainly enjoy all of your posts and love hearing about your chickens as well as everyone else's beautiful girls and boys that I read about here.View attachment 1633786
I have been wanting to do this for some time now. I knew once I started doing this there would be no going back. So I am now diving in and I hope you all enjoy coming along for the ride.
First of all let me tell you how we view our flock as that will help you to understand why we treat them like we do.
Our birds are our pets and we treat them as such. We do not care if someone is not laying eggs. They are welcome to stay at Fluffy Butt Acres until they pass naturally. (Now don't go telling them that! I would hate for word to get out) We do thoroughly enjoy the fresh eggs.
I plan to tell stories from the past as well as from today. I hope you all enjoy and will share stories of your flocks as well.
All this fascination with blue eggs. I hope you get your blue egg layer. I'm the exact opposite, I would be upset if I got a blue egg. I want browns, all the shades of browns. I'm actually anxious for the new up and coming girls to start laying. Their momma's lay light tan eggs, Butters is actually tan with a few speckles. Thanks to daddy Drumstick, his gene's should make the new girls eggs darker. I'm not expecting as dark of eggs as my full marans, but somewhere in the middle. Then with Squirrel and Creamy, will they also get the speckles on their eggs like their momma? Time will tell I guess. As long as its not a boring white egg, or blue I'm happy.1 in 20, 5% please don't raise my odds.

Just fence them off from each other with chicken wire. Please don't leave them with someone that takes advantage. How will they treat those chickensIntegration troubles. Even my littlest ones haven’t been able to yet
At this point I would add them to mine and take care of them myself. There are only 6.
