Here’s Beethov-hen and Hen-Rietta wondering where their meally worms are this morning. I said I’m out sorry, they are at Walmart! Go get your own! :thI must be the worst “chicken daddy ever “ 891771E6-D1DA-41ED-995C-5A6740DEAF4A.jpeg

Oh dear. Don't jinx it. Remember the 10% brown eggs.
Also, from experience, teeny, tiny (blue) eggs.
1 in 20, 5% please don't raise my odds.
Mrs BY Bob is already teasing me about blue eggs 🥚 and my failure rate and she is not even here yet. 😔

I do not know if I should laugh at this or cry. That cat is acting like my girl Jynx. She's bi-polar, and loves you when SHE wants to love you. Beware if you hops on you asking to be petted. You have exactly 3 strokes, from the top of her head to her mid back. If you go any farther or more then 3 you get this reaction.
Here is my spawn of satan herself. She actually has my neighbors 20 year old daughter terrified of her. She came on the porch one day a few years ago to get her sister and Jynx hopped up on her shoulders wanting a ride inside. I had a then 17 year old having a crying meltdown frozen in place while I carefully removed her all the while trying not to laugh.

If you were in Australia I might think it was a Satin Bower bird. It looks about the same shape and size.
What sort of birds are local to your part of the UK?

I'm sad to say I wasn't knowledgeable about birds until getting my chickens. I only recognised, the sparrows magpies thrush and Robin's. My friend had an unusual species for this part of the world in her garden I will ask her next time I see her.

I would love to make this little one at home as she's been here a few times now and is in no way afraid of me and certainly not my girls.

I have been wanting to do this for some time now. I knew once I started doing this there would be no going back. So I am now diving in and I hope you all enjoy coming along for the ride.

First of all let me tell you how we view our flock as that will help you to understand why we treat them like we do.

Our birds are our pets and we treat them as such. We do not care if someone is not laying eggs. They are welcome to stay at Fluffy Butt Acres until they pass naturally. (Now don't go telling them that! I would hate for word to get out) We do thoroughly enjoy the fresh eggs.

I plan to tell stories from the past as well as from today. I hope you all enjoy and will share stories of your flocks as well.
I most certainly enjoy all of your posts and love hearing about your chickens as well as everyone else's beautiful girls and boys that I read about here. :love

All this fascination with blue eggs. I hope you get your blue egg layer. I'm the exact opposite, I would be upset if I got a blue egg. I want browns, all the shades of browns. I'm actually anxious for the new up and coming girls to start laying. Their momma's lay light tan eggs, Butters is actually tan with a few speckles. Thanks to daddy Drumstick, his gene's should make the new girls eggs darker. I'm not expecting as dark of eggs as my full marans, but somewhere in the middle. Then with Squirrel and Creamy, will they also get the speckles on their eggs like their momma? Time will tell I guess. As long as its not a boring white egg, or blue I'm happy.

At this point I would add them to mine and take care of them myself. There are only 6.
:thumbsup

It would be easy to separate them until they get used to each other.

If my birds can adopt and share with a wild bird then the chickens will soon get along. They will see you care for them all. Remember you are the top bird, Alexander the greatest, then king Jaffar will have your back
