So the bottom of this extra-large and deep cat litter box was their dustbath box in the tractor when they were younger and smaller. They had a block as a step but they didn't need it, they jumped up onto the edge. I kept the top off most of the time (they didn't go in and out through the flap, but that would be cool if they did). Notice the space under the handle. So the bungee cord went through there.
The run side, with Hazel. The water drops you can see are on the underside. It rained again last night and it's pretty dry in there. I remove the feed when I check everyone at night and bring it back in the morning, to discourage mice. That green cover to the right is a cat litter container (I think Cat's Pride) cut and wedged into the wires keeping the grit and oyster shell dry. It was previously a seedlings holder and it eventually began to leak, thus the warning "leaks!" written on it.
