Alinta has become increasingly aggressive over the last couple of years. She was always a biter, we were sure she would turn out to be a he until they were over 2 months old and Brenna started catching up a bit. Alinta was a bit bigger in both body and comb until they matured, Brennas comb is bigger now, but she is smaller otherwise.
If it wasn't for the regular eggs and constant broody behavior I would assume a serious hormone imbalance, but instead I think it is a mix of just plain mean, and wanting someone to be lower on the pecking scale than she is right now. Her behavior towards me is the worst right after one of the others picks on her.

I just finished with BoPeeps. She seemed to snap out of it. But, Shenandoah and Xzit are in the coop sitting on eggs now. Two under Shanny, and one under Xzit. I worry about that, because it’s too hot in there at this time of day. Temperature here is 100f.

Well, folks… Ruby continues to respond well to tubing. However, her hormones have already returned and she’s quite swollen. I’ll likely have her euthanized soon, as she did not tolerate the last two drainings very well and I don’t think I’ll put her through that again. As of today, she seems happy with good body language and vocalizations, but I’m bracing myself.
