Wear a knight in armor suit. I don’t know why you are getting attacked in the first place
The Buckeye Bunch - usually one or two take a minute or more and explore whatever I'm wearing each day, and I let them. They don't peck at bare legs, except a freckle or mole, or helpfully get a mosquito off me. But clothes- they will pull at any threads, peck at any spots or fuzz, seams are especially interesting, they pull on sewed-on labels, and they explore all the wrinkles formed when I crouch, and printed patterns, they love patterns! Today I had on shorts with a sort of a houndstooth pattern, and after greeting me two began doing a kind of wiping peck/push on the wrinkles. It is definitely friendly, and I like that they are comfortable being close to me. Sometimes in the past they have pecked my bare skin but they stop when I object, they haven't done it in a while. No idea what they get out of the whole ritual, except maybe that's what it is, a greeting ritual. :idunno

Sounds like love to me. Mine attack the buttons on any clothing I wear. I also have chicken clothes, and regular clothes. (And only church clothes for Sunday) They mean no harm, they are just showing the attention, that they want to receive from you.
