The discussion @RoyalChick started on spurs led me to survey & photo the Buckeye Bunch's feet. And some fluffy butts too. Let's see them!

Popcorn - three pictures - She has the biggest ones. There's a nice nail-like point on the right one and the left ain't too shabby either.

Hazel She has a small one on her right foot. She's molting her pantaloons.

Butters She has no spurs, no hint even, basically very smooth feet.

Peanut She has a tiny nub on the right foot and pretty much nothing on the left.

Plus a bonus video when they took a rest after the photoshoot (except for Peanut).
PS Peanut was about a foot from the fence and didn't go closer, they are smart about it.
Gorgeous girls! Is that an electric poultry fence?

Happy Friday from Snow (who’s butt is the cleanest it’s been for a while 😅)

Thanks, both. There is the worry that it will only last a month and not correct the underlying issue. There is the dream it will be a one and done treatment. There is the thought that one dose and shortened days will give her body a chance to grow a little more instead of investing all the resources into egg production.

The truth is, we will try the vet advice, but if the hormones don't "fix" her after a couple of tries, it will not be something we can administer every month for the rest of her life at 500$ for the prescription only. It will have to be an occasional treatment at most 😣
This is probably a dumb thought and sharach will more than likely shoot me down in flames but Himalayan salt supposedly helps us humans with hormonal issues, would a tiny bit of this help chickens I wonder 🤔

Seriously? I'm doomed. The youngest has been driving for a year now and somehow manages to get me to pay for his gas.... every single time! How am I going to survive this clever manipulative behavior into his 30s?!?
Get a grip, you are not doing him or yourself any favours.

I learned this the hard way. Now when I gift them they get so excited ever so happy and really appreciate my efforts.
They know they are loved and are today far more independent and mentally much stronger.

I love my baby :lovethey have learned at last that you cannot buy love and shouldn't use a loved in as a meal ticket
