You all are probably tired of them now! Haha, i always call him my little misfit, he has a calico tounge (like black and yellow patterns! Just how a cats mouths can be like mix matched) with his black and yellow spotted feet and bright green unmatching feathers! Still a cutie though.

I find this guy very handsome and would love more pictures. He reminds me of Henrietta's brother Toothless who I had to rehome a year ago. I still miss him, but get updates frequently. He is king of his own barn now with a new harem of ladies.

Everyone he did it, 1 day shy of 4 months old my little Branch let out his first 2 crows this morning!!!!!!!!!!! And they were not half bad either, he did not sound like he was being strangled to death like some boys do when they are first learning. It did shock me though, being this tiny under 1 pound munchkin I was thinking he'd have more of a high pitched shriek. Nope, Little man has some lungs and it sounded very close to Basil's deep crow. In fact, If I had not been out there feeding the horses breakfast and saw it I would have thought that was Bubba's first attempt.

either she's starting a new set of feathers or she's popping a crest...which would be odd as neither parent has one, unless it's recessive some how.

That would compliment all your barred rocks. Then you need an equine with feathers, preferably pony to compliment Jaffar.

I think you did say how much space you have - but I must have been distracted as I didn't imagine it quite as spacious as these pictures show - that is a nice area for them.
They seem to be learning how to be chickens quite fast.

I just want to thank you all for all of your teaching and observation work on chickens. Now more knowledgeable, I think I know where to take the chicken story I started writing years ago. Although, it probably won't be the first finished since I have four other manuscripts in progress.

I didn't know you were writing as well as drawing. Can we assume you are illustrating your chicken stories? That would be lovely!

Sansa's Feathers

This is Sansa's first big molt. Out of respect I will not show her naked butt. But this is the first time I am really getting a look at her big feathers. Check out how her wing feather is not laced but rather is 50/50.

Silver's feathers are the same way. Actually, all of my birds with patterned feathers (includes hen colored like Twirp) (except the barred) do this on the wing feathers.

1 of Jessica's, mostly Twirp (narrow edge to them), a few of Cheetah's, possibly 1 left from Dora or Helen. Even my splash birds are more split down the shaft (with the shaft being dark)
