But not too bad unless you cut the video before the blood flowed.
Hang in there. It was never going to be easy.
:hugs
There was a tail feather plucked later because Sylvie would not just sit still. That's it though. A roost there will help.

Exactly, and can they see it because they see more light frequencies or because they have pretty detailed vision?
Seems like there is conflicting data: visual and auditory. Very small study, but:

I can't find the referenced study regarding visual, but this is a very detailed article on bird vision:

My dad used to say to prick the flat end because that's where the air sac is. Did he have that wrong? Maybe it doesn't matter which end is pricked?

I once taught a friend to prick her eggs before boiling them and when she came back from an overseas holiday, she brought me an egg pricker! I've still got it somewhere. It looks like this.

Yes, large end is better, as that is where the air sac is...for microwaving. For boiling, I always prick the small end, but I assume you could prick either for boiling with little difference.

Who knew there was a 'thing' for that!! Thanks for sharing!:love That will be on my Christmas wish list!!

I wouldn’t want to deprive “Levi” of his dinner. (This is Levi) My brother’s buddy. He’s relaxing on my brother’s yacht, in Washington State. View attachment 2883904
Umm, he looks well fed,(just saying) 🤷‍♀️ so someone must compensate for the 'stolen' dinners.:lau
