Worried about you. Hoping as I read ahead things are figured out and you are on the mend!Still in the hospital. Not much of a change in my condition. Iām hoping for a better day tomorrow. Hospital food and service here is really lousy. But Iām managing and though lightheaded, Iām still breathing!
Ok. Here are my chickens (all but the RIRās). My flock totals to 20 chickens + 1 rooster. Fluffy here, in the profile pic, is one of my very favorite chickens. She is an EE (she lays blue eggs), and she is very gentle and tame. Funny thing is, She became tame by herself. We didnāt really have any Interaction with her as a chick, and she just became tame. Next on the list, is Hawk, who recently overcame her āillnessā (she was egg bound). She is a White Jersey Giant, and I gave her that name because her eyes were the biggest and blackest form all the White Jersey giant. She is tame, but doesnāt really like being picked up. Then there is Ruby, Oreo Penguin, and Marshmallow, the Cochins. They are all tame except Marshmallow (the white one), and the tamest of the 3 would be Ruby. Next, we have the EEās. Fluffy, Paint-head, and a hen that looks a bit like Fluffy, but black. We named one of the EEās āPaint-Headā, because when she was a chick, she had a brown-ish dot on her head, and it looked as if someone dipped her head in a bit of paint. She now looks kind of like Fluffy, but darker brown (I will post pics of everyone). Then, the rooster, an Appenzeller Spitzhauben. Ne is really handsome, and he is getting a bit more ātameā towards us, but he is still pretty scared. We also have 8 RIRās form out neighbor, and 1 Buff Orpington. And last but not least, 3 OEās, which, somehow, one of them lays blue eggs. I guess she must have a dominant blue egg gene. Or she might just be an EE that looks a LOT like an OE, but bigger. Our OEās are smaller than all the rest if the hens, but they are pretty fast. And here are a million pictures. The White Jersey giant is Hawk, I didnāt really take pics of the others. *the hen on the glass table, that looks ābarredā is the āweirdā OE*.I think we would all love to see and learn about your chickens.![]()
Awesome idea!I have an ideaI have recordings of my chooks. One (of Jaffarās crowing) and the ladies egg songs. Next time I have to call the nurses station, I will use one, or more of those recordings over the intercom.

She looks like she is part cuckoo marans. Pretty girl!Ok, here is the OE I was talking about (little bonus: there is a white jersey giant in the background)
Thank you! It would be nice if she was part cuckoo Maran. Id she goes broody, then there is a chance a chick might lay a brown egg.She looks like she is part cuckoo marans. Pretty girl!(but then, I'm partial to barred types

It worked, but the desk became angry and said that if I need something, āletās be serious about it ā party poopers!Awesome idea!

It certainly is better that they are more cautious. They are smart and I love them for that. That's a good thing thought isn't it. Far better they learn more caution.
Thye know their security is better when you are there and that is a correct view.
I would be a lloot more worried if you had found them wandering around.
