Oh Alex. I am so sorry. She had a lovely life with you. We are here for you if you need hugs.
How about you compile a tribute to her with lovely photos so we can all celebrate her life.

:hugs :hugs :hugs
Maybe In a few days, I may. It’s entirely too new at the moment. I feel like I lost a child.

The bottom of that bird seems awful dark for a hawk. It could just be the quality of the photo though. I can't be sure.
They look dark to me live but I only ever see them against the sky. Could it be a turkey vulture?

I knew it was her time to go, but that thought of “what could I have done better “ is in my head 🙁
There is no way around these thoughts. Try not to let them paralyze you. I did that. Still do it from time to time. :hugs :hugs

That my first thought but I can't see the feathers at the end of the wing well enough to be sure. Can you see individual feathers at the end of the wing when they circle?

No, no. Don’t go down that path. You cared for her well and gave her lots of companionship and love.

Hmmm. I don’t know. I will look for that feature next time one comes by. This one was solo if that helps.
Between checking the Princesses were under cover and fumbling the camera my observational skills may not have been at their best.
Also I didn’t know what I was looking for!
It was very big. Way bigger than a chicken. I mean twice as big maybe.

Likely a turkey vulture then. They are large.

Hen-Rietta is so sad losing her sister. She’s wandering the yard looking for Beetov-Hen :( I cannot afford (emotionally) to dwell on this too long.

I still have ten chickens to care for, and one horse.

This looks like individual feathers.
