They were in the coop at the time and I was not outside at the time. It very well could be that.

To elaborate, in my flock that is an alert call. Everyone goes perfectly still when someone makes that call. Some may or may not chime in.

I swear I have seen them year round my whole life. Are you sure they migrate from here?

Well as far as I know they go to Mexico area to winter. (I want to go to Mexico, brrrrr cold here hahaha).

Have seen them in Yuma AZ in the winter! Awesome!

I love how they start to relax as you talk they know their protector is there for them.
