Well I'll be. Maybe you don't feel ready yet, I understand. :hugs Mrs. Bob is right though. And you know we have to risk our hearts sharing life with all our animal friends. But what a big and true heart you have, you'll be giving her a good place to live. :hugs
You are right, never say never! Hello, Betty! :frow

Hmm, no quarantine? Looks like Phyllis has company already!
Concern: Is Betty going to be okay with the potential Marek's that you may have? How old is she? Is she vaccinated? I'm not speaking out of much knowledge, not being critical, just concerned.

So many questions! Is she a Frizzled Polish? Phyllis didn't attack her, 'cause you put her in there after dark? So are you getting up early to monitor tomorrow? :caf
Questions! Questions! So many Questions!

Let me try and answer.

She is fully vaccinated against Mareks and Mycoplasma and is ~ 8 months old. No worries there.

Yes and no to quarantine. She is quarantined with Phyllis. They are locked off together from the other 4. I can't quarantine her separate from Phyllis. I don't have the facilities and I don't want to quarantine her alone for 2 weeks.

She is a Silver Laced Frizzled Polish. Phyllis did not attack her because it is dark in Cluckle Hut. Yes, I will be up early tomorrow.

Phew. I think I got them all.

Never Say Never

Does everyone remember when the plan was to obtain 2 of these lovelies to put into a coop with Phyllis and start a sub tribe? I had 2 reserved and then a dog got into the chickens and killed a bunch of them. My friend decided that those remaining she would keep for herself.

She texted me on Sunday. She is pregnant and decided to get rid of her chickens. Somehow she had placed all of her chickens but one. Would I take it to be Phyllis' friend.

At first I was reluctant. Things have not gone well lately. Mrs BY Bob pointed out that the universe was providing a solution to the Phyllis situation from a trusted source. So I agreed.

Everyone say hello to Betty.

Thank you! I feel relieved with the vaccinations.
I feel a little sad for Betty. How is it she was left as a single hen to rehome, without a companion? Some extra stress for her. Or maybe she was top hen among the young ones there and has some beak to her!
I know your trusted friend likely did not have a sick flock and would have told you if she suspected anything. So given that, I agree the company of Phyllis is way better than the isolation of 2 weeks. That door that Phyllis was on can close off the Fluffy Butt coop area and leave the Cluckle Hut part of the run available, right? So there will be a lot of see-no-touch going on with everyone else.
OK I'll stop with the questions now....

I'm in with 2 feet again. I surely am do a happy outcome at this point, right?
Certainly over due. I hope it all goes smoothly for you this time. :hugs
She's an amazing looking girl. What colour eggs does she lay? Blue? Pink? Green with orange spots? 😜

I think my friend may have done this on purpose to help me out and force my hand.

Some extra stress for her. Or maybe she was top hen among the young ones there and has some beak to her!

yes, as best as anyone can tell, her chickens were healthy.

Yes, I lowered the drop door and separated the two coops completely. Polish on one side, regular hens on the other.
