I really like Mango and Banana. What about going with tropical (ish) fruit for all the buff silkies: Plantain, Bread (fruit), Coco (nut), Persimmon, Papaya, Liqi (pronounced Lee chee)? if necessary, you could branch into citrus: mandarin, clementine, pumelo, satsuma, tangerine, lemon, lime....So there are 5 names being tossed around for the Chiquita chicks. My mom says the keeper has to be named Charlie. My grandpa wants to call Chiquita Charlie after him so we will let him have his Charlie in one of her babies. Another member on here informed me that "Fifi" was the name of a small variety of banana's and me and Rosie think its perfect for a little yellow silkie. Mom thinks it is a poodle name and she hates poodles, but we will overrule her on this one. The other 3 names Rosie is tossing around are Mango, Banana and Wasabi. Of those 3 I like Mango the best, but at some point Rosie will end up with a chicken named Wasabi. Poppy has yet to lay but she has also named 2 of her and Branches future chicks. 1 is Twig or Twiggy after Branch, and the other is Hoppy to rhyme with Poppy.
Sorry, Coco (the nut, and she really is a nut) is takenI really like Mango and Banana. I'm honestly not trying to do a fruit or food theme. Rosie and my mom seem to have food or fruit on the brain when naming the chickens. Most times unless there is a name I really want to use I let them have at it which is why I have a rooster named Basil. It is probably my least favorite of the names, but, he is Rosie's rooster and she was dead set his name was Basil. There is just some times it is best to pick and choose your battles. I got my Raven, Corona, Blueberry and Daisy. When in the future it is time to add another boy, and that is not happening until one of the current boy's pass which I am determined will not be for many more years he will be named Barbosa.I really like Mango and Banana.
