Oh and here is something about grandma that kills me. She loves my chickens, but refuses to eat a fresh egg. Do you know how bad it hurts me inside to have to buy store eggs when I am getting now over a dozen a day and swimming in eggs.

Can you 'repurpose' a store bought carton & secretly fill it with your eggs?

Well,seems the hawks are back. I was at my house (I moved in with hubby when we got married, my house is rented) yesterday meeting with a realtor and doing some of the spring clean-up. Hubby let the kids out to free range while I was gone. ..and locked everyone up last night. I let them out this morning, and one group is short a girl...one of my reds. I go looking around and see a 'puff' of red feathers about 50' away from their pen. I come in and ask hubby if he heard any ruckus while they were out...'oh, yeah, sometime around 6pm there was.' Did you go out and check? 'No. they settled down after about 5 min." Guess my idea of 'supervised free range' and his are slightly different. No offence meant to you guys out there...but 'aaarrrrgggggghh, husbands!' What ya gonna' do I love him, but sometimes he needs a

I'm with you. You MUST check when there is a ruckus. Basic rules.

Ok, not the best pic (I mostly have video) but here are Sunshine, Flash and Flo as chicks on my son’s lap. Flash is in the middle. I believe females have darker chipmunk stripes than males, so perhaps we do have a little boy of some kind?

Love the hats!!! I used to have 5 of them but a dog got in and killed 4 found the last one then disappeared, we thi k it was the dog again, luckily no more problems with preditors knock on wood

No, I don't think you bad at all for thinking that! I'm sure @RebeccaBoyd s eggs are healthier, as well as fresher.

I have a human teenager, wow, it is so hard to say that. I'm blessed to say that while we have our moments for the most part I seem to be doing my job right. She is a caring respectful young lady who is focused on her grades and her animals. I'm really going to want to cry and feel old come May when I have to say I have officially a high schooler.

You really are doing great. Try to remember that. It can get very hard to when they are in high school.
