I wonder what one would have to do to actually import eggs....

I am sure it can be done just as one would import horses and cattle. In fact I bet importing eggs would likely be easier than livestock....
USA to Canada… no problems, stop in at a grocery store, buy a few dozen eating eggs, and some non fruit/veggie general food items donate them or toss them, put the hatching eggs in the cartons, and return from your cross border shopping trip. Just don’t try to bring an apple or lemon! One of my Aunts and her husband used to shop across the border all the time for cheaper groceries… Internationally, it’s a whole other bag of worms.

Ok, let’s mark it down… Bob left on page 8908 and was guessing he would be 1000 pages behind on his return! 😂 And do we have a volunteer for note taking?

Ummmm, there’s not really any missing those combs and wattles… so how many pullet chicks is she planning on ordering in? 😆
She has her 2nd round hatching at this very moment. 1 is already out and 2 are making progress. She had 14 eggs make it to lockdown. The one that is out is yellow so it is either a Butter or Creamy baby. It is still drying off but once it is removed from the incubator she will let me know if it has feathered feet or not. If it does have feathered feet I will cry. I tried last summer to hatch a yellow feathered foot Butter baby for mom and the closest I came was Creamy. She is not completely white, from the neck and head she's yellow like Butter but she has clean legs.

Just thought I would give you guys an update on my chicks, I had 12, 3 passed, about 2 days ago I got 5 more. Now I have 14 chicks! Add my 2 fully grown laying hens and I have 16 chickens! I am very positive that these chicks will make it. Its been some time now and I have not lost any since! Yay! Here are some photos of my happy Leghorn flock.

The Chook Taj Mahal is in!

After a bit of a late start, the guys arrived with the structure flat-packed in the back of a Ute. By the time they finished the light was beginning to fade but they got it finished. I’m so happy with it! I’ll need to varnish the door, the duck-walk and nest boxes so they’ll have to wait another week so the fumes clear, but that’s ok.
