@MaryJanet I don't know how to do one of those 'multi quote' things so a few responses here:
- I sense the miconazole is killing the yeast - the smell is less - but I assume unless I can empty the crop that won't make a difference - I don't believe the yeast blocks the crop, I think it takes over when a crop is slow moving. I don't 100% know that so I would love if the miconazole acted like Draino and cleared the clog but I don't expect that so I keep on massaging. The trouble with the massaging is that unlike when I did this before and I could feel the fibrous stuff to break up, this just feels like a water balloon with some small pieces in the water - so I feel all I am doing is squeezing the fluid from one side to another.
- On Bernadette, she still doesn't walk quite normally - it is like she has to concentrate to put her feet in the right place - so I am not letting up the B2 in the short term. Maybe in a month, assuming she continues well, I might try a few days with a lower dose. But given the history of how she goes lame without the B2, and given B2 is not stored in the body and needs to be taken in every day, I think I will keep her on it!
- I am not sure the birds of a feather thing applies to the Chicken Palace roosting arrangements right now. My guess is that is the only spot Bernadette could get to and Minnie just happens to be the other side of the wall. I hope they have a nice chat though!

I was wondering what Minnie's crop felt like and I recall the fibrous matter from last time. Is she passing any solid matter?

Wrt Bernadette and B2, I would do the same and would begin stepping down by very small amounts over an extended period after a few weeks of strong legs. I still hold that thought about proprioception and the b vitamins.

Bbq and fresh eggs 😁

The proprioception issue was one of the other B vitamins - I did look it up but I don't now remember which one. I am only super-dosing her on B2 which is not associated with any side effects.

On Minnie her crop is entirely different from before - it is squishy not hard. I assume though that in among all the squish there must be a plug of something stopping the whole thing up. It is based on that theory that I keep on massaging - but I am losing heart a bit because I am not able to feel that there is anything to break up. I wish I understood exactly where the crop drains into the proventriculus (sp?) - I imagine that is where the plug is, but I don't know if I can search that out with my fingers when I massage.
It is all so very worrying. I am mentally preparing myself that she won't make it through this.

:hugs

I see what you mean about the need to emotionally prepare yourself.
