Trying to take break but Sophia and Curly thought I should share my bagel, in the end I relented and gave them a few nibbles

They were very well behaved. Mine have a 6th sense for carbohydrates and turn into a terrifying mob.
Seriously, I can’t eat anywhere near them!

My sweet boy is not doing any better. In fact, this morning his eyes looked extremely yellow...like my husband's Husky when his body systems started shutting down in old age. It is time. If it is Mareks, then it has definitely spread to some organs, as @BY Bob suspected. I'll snuggle with him for a bit before, and tell him what a wonderful boy he is. I wonder just how much they understand by body language and tone. I hope he knows I love him.

Rest in peace, my sweet boy. May you be strong and well and have all the hens you wish for on the other side.

Yesterday the flock got a treat of Cottage Cheese. It was a huge hit with Raven and the hooligans especially. Look at Raven though, she is not black she's blue and green.

It absolutely would not surprise me now to hear Ezzie crow for the first time. I'm starting to see more and more roostery behavior although at 5 months and being single combed I would expect more of a comb and some wattles by now. Chiquita's comb is still bigger.
