It's a pacific phenomenon. It brings cooler weather and rain to Australia.

Here it's different from the west coast than on the east coast.

In the west it can mean lots of rain...

Hey did you hear anything on Chaco?

I normally don't worry too much about horses and heat, being plains animals they are built for hot dry and cold dry weather. It's the wet rainy weather that's not great for horses.
