Well not sure I would eat the raccoons that kept getting into my feed room one year, I finally trapped and had my BILs brother come down to humanely kill them, it was January and not the time of year to resettle as there would be no chance for them to survive find shelter and food in a new location. You have to resettle at least 5 miles away or they come back.

We felt terrible but they were tearing things up getting into the feed room messing up my hay with coon doodoo 😧

Sad tax

To make me smile here is a favourite my three broodies

I absolutely understand I hate to admit it but if I couldn't catch them and get them rescued I'd have no other options 😒 We have to protect our animals all we can

I read earlier you bought everyone into the chicken room to cool down. Been watching on tv all the extreme heat out west and down your way.

Did you see the news with Spain and Portugal? They also have extreme heat and forest fires.

Tax -again

Blanch, I can’t decide if she is a copper Maran or a leghorn ….

She looks like my Amber but she was a bantam (possibly a high bred)

Sadly it’s not a happy ending here tonight. Poor little Xzit, and then Shenandoah was not feeling well. I have Xzit in, and Shenandoah too (I cleaned her up a bit…, don’t ask) she’s fine with a roommate Xzit. After all, they are sisters. Just no 🐣 chicks in Xzit’s near future.
What are their symptoms?

It’s very hot on the ground, but at 8000ft it’s nice and cool. 🛩️ And the new car has A/C I use it too!

I hope they feel better soon, Alex. Is it from the heat? It was at least 10° cooler today and tonight it’d even a bit cool.
Any sign of distress, (for me) means I bring my feathered family inside. I like that privilege. My chooks love the attention also. I’m totally in love with my chooks!

Opening my heart here: I had a fairly good marriage. But when things got crazy, I lost everything that I thought I had. I was able to keep what I needed. X got the beachfront property, all the cars and even my children and my dog. Same story for every divorce (man’s opinion) but instead of crying about it, I pooled my resources, and bought some stock in a little company at the time, called Google. The rest is history. Now today, my retirement has been a wonderful time. I was thinking 🤔 what do I need now? Answer: leave Washington DC , go to California, buy a farm, get some chickens, make new friends, and forget everything about the past (because hurt, hurts) yah, sometimes I think about my x but memories do fade away with time. At least the bad ones do. And I’m better off at life now than I have ever been! In conclusion, my friends, follow your dreams. Make your dreams come true. Don’t wait for the golden goose, be happy with this: A0FFF327-4527-431B-86E8-DEF18113B838.jpeg
