Marans sized....Well......... I do have that cross. Like Twig though it did not inherit the silkie feathering. Unlike Twig it has a single comb so I should know if it is a boy or girl way sooner then I will with Twig. I will say one thing, I do not think it is going to be lightly feathered on the legs. It will be another Twig with junk in the trunk and legs.
My motivation is from the Bible. Do unto others as you would like done to you. So I did.Being a nice guy ain't a crime. I believe in karma. I've had total strangers in foreign countries help me for no other reason than they were nice people.
Maybe, I don’t know for sure. Will the cobbler get shared with you?
That is my mottoMy motivation is from the Bible. Do unto others as you would like done to you. So I did.
That is very kind of you. In my subdivision it is not unheard of for one of use to borrow something from another. If we get asked, and we have it we give it. Same with everyone else. If I'm in a pinch and need something and borrow it from my neighbors it is returned as the soonest opportunity. If it is used when I am baking, which is when halfway through mixing my ingredients I realize I am out of something and one of my neighbors has some to spare, I make sure to share the finished product as well. To me that is just being a good neighbor. Now if you borrow something and never return and keep wanting to borrow something else, there will come a time when I tell you no.This is what I’m talking about. My neighbor lady called and said she needs some butter for a peach cobbler. I took my car and bought her some. I’m okay with that, but I don’t think that I will ever change (being a nice guy)![]()
They look very chatty!Meet and Greet
The last few nights right before bed everyone has been meeting at the fence. No fence fighting and no aggression displayed by anyone so far.

@featherhead007 I am reading all of your posts .....and want to grab your shoulders and SHAKE YOU! (but also give you a hug)
You can't look at the past...hindsight is always 20/20. You have done the best you could/can at each point in your life, given where you were and what you were capable of at the time. (emotionally, mentally, physically, etc) We all, hopefully, grow and change as we gain life experiences, wisdom, and personal strength.
You need to look forward. What do YOU want out of life? Where do you see yourself going from here? And I don't mean 'to have more wealth than my brother'. That says nothing about what would make you happy or bring you comfort/joy. Because comfort, happiness, is NEVER about what other people have. It is about what you truly want for yourself in your heart. Simple things - friends, to garden, chickens, maybe to believe in God, whatever. You need to take some time to do some real soul searching, and think about what makes you happy/content. Focus on those things in your life. You are a good, kind man. It is time you really paid attention to ALEX. The heck with what the rest of the world has or wants - it should now be about what Alex really, deep down, wants.![]()

Okay, I need to leave now; need to spend the next hour getting pictures to pay my taxes for this post.![]()
They really are spectacular!I cannot begin to tell you how much I love my Black Copper Marans. The hens are very sweet and friendly. My boys while big are sweet loveable giants, and just gorgeous with their coloring. I have both varieties, the French which have feathered legs and lay my darker solid colored eggs. I also have the English clean legged variety who lay dark speckled eggs, which I may prefer. Egg color that is, give me the feathered legs any day. I also have several various Marans mixes, some with clean legs and some with feathered legs but all have inherited the loveable Marans personality.
Bubba my Rooster.
