Had a quick thunderstorm earlier this evening and now we're getting a good slow rain. It slacked off just before dark. It felt refreshing walking around the yard with the pups. They enjoyed it too, even the big dogs were running and playing. I kept them out until it picked up a bit. Supposed to rain all night tonight and most of the day tomorrow 😊🌧

Well that’s it.

So much for hiding out in the barn.

Whatever mum has I have - thanks mum :he

And I was doing so good staying away from germ factory kids…. Darn tootin! Should have included old people who frequent casinos!!

I tried singing to the chickies and the ponies and all I could do was sound a little ‘horse’ 😆 and croak out a few peeps of ‘Gloria’ (great song), now I am barking like a dog, coughing…
Take care of yourself Kelly. Maybe try some Kentucky cough syrup: bourbon, honey, and lemon juice 🥃

Putting the kids to bed, Dakota ran inside the house when I opened the door. So she’s inside the chickens room tonight. I learned to never argue with a redhead! :old 4D451B31-F4CB-4811-B57D-C4E081A0A107.jpeg

Thanks everyone for asking after Lulu. She is a mystery to me.
No egg overnight and no egg this morning and she is not very interested in visiting the nest boxes today. I have examined her rear end (externally only) and cannot feel an egg and nor is she pumping her tail.
She is a bit perkier today. She is eating and drinking.
But, she is definitely not her normal chipper self.
She is sitting and resting much more often than usual (and more than the others).
One odd thing is she is sitting with her rear end and tail very high - this is a mild version I caught on camera. Very blurry as it is from a far away coop cam - but you can see her shape.
Anyone any ideas?

Normal - maybe a bit more tail-down than I would like to see. And she has flown/hopped up and down the roost a couple of times which also looked normal.
Her sitting position does really makes me think of my chickens when they were egg bound, but it doesn't fit with the fact that she walks and acts almost normally.
Check her poop, an egg bound chicken passes very little poop and it's often whitish liquid stuff. And also very often mine didn't go to lay in the nest box as if they didn't feel like the thing stuck was an egg- or maybe they knew it wasn't viable? they just chose a place to sit and be miserable until they passed an egg.

Though right now my poor Blanche has been sitting in the nest trying to lay for an hour and a half, even though she already laid early this morning 😟. I'm worried for her also.
Hahaha

Who knows?? My sister is all freaked out mum is sick, told her to get tested 😳

I told mum why bother, it’s not going to cure ya, just wear you mask and hide in your room so I don’t get sick…

She told me to wear a mask and hide in the barn…

I countered by telling her na nana na na, you can’t go to the casino…. That’s when I made a hasty retreat to the barn yesterday 😆

Now karma has fated that I too shall be ill for teasing her ha!

Good thing I am working from home tomorrow! I can once again hide in the barn pretend to work, and play with the chickens and ponies 🐔.

And I can whine all I want to the chickies 😊 they will still luv me ❤️
Take care of yourself and don't abuse of @GregnLety 's miracle cure.
I Could Cry Right Now

Yipee! Maybe she waited until you stopped expecting it from her ? Chickens are so good at doing things we dont expect and never what we actually want them to!
