Mr Pompei is at it again sleeping in this odd position! He normally is now sleeping with his head on the platform facing the wall but Rose has decided she must sleep with him so she has been crowding in on the platform also. Poor Pompei! It can’t be good sleeping like this…

Dorothy is molting poor girl, she has been roosting on the stall doors to stay away from the drama queens here, they can’t fly up onto the doors, only she and buttercup are flyers here (thank goodness!)

So they are moved out to the coop and new worries set in. Did we do enough to keep em safe? Will the tinkering ever end? Will they figure out the ladder and how roost? Its a new era and I miss their sweet peeps in my living room. Here are a few pics from today while we finished it up. It is 8x16 and we will be closing in an 11x16 run next. Its not winning any design or beauty awards but hey it should serve well enough for the time being

From what I can see it looks great. I will be very interested in how they use the ladder. Great job.

Lark and Indigo fell asleep like that last night. One had settled onto the roost to keep her toes warm, the other standing on the roost..

Awwww poor wee gal. Is it possible to let the door open an extra half hour ? To let everyone get settled and then she can also get settled?

I have bed time drama here also, and I bet this is why Misty roosts in the shavings room.

Possible, yes. Do I want to, no. I don't like that the main coop door is open s late as it is. I had to do that for Maleficent and we know what happened there anyway. Now the bigs are used to it and stay out too late because of it. I like that the Rascals go to bed before it is really dark out.

I want to make certain I know what is really happening before I change anything.

It’s the other way around here; the oldsters go to bed early and the youngsters stay up!

In the summer I sometimes have to chase the silkies in to bed. Now that daylight hrs are less all are heading to bed between 6:30 and 7pm. And other than Misty they are all in the henhouse by the time I do evening chores/check. And have to pick up Misty from the shavings room and put her in the hen house. Not sure how to get her to go on there on her own
