I tried that. The majority of the new chicks came from the new girls. Same results. I joke about the rooster fairy. But really, I think I am destined to hatch boys, it is all I hatch. It would not be so bad if we actually processed our own chickens. The surplus of boys would not be bad, it would be a good thing. We do not though, so I'm left trying my best to find good homes for them. My grandma's brother offered me a solution that emotionally I am struggling to accept. He's offered to buy all my roosters, but he will process and eat them. I want to try and find them homes first though. Dang chickens, raising them and loving the boys have given me a bleeding heart.So, it wasn't intended to poke fun at you...it was more like a threatening that she could end up that way and to not get too overconfident.
I actually feel very bad for you that you have such a ratio of Roos to hens in your hatches.![]()
You might think about getting a few new hens that are whatever breed you want, and try hatching from them. It is the hen that determines the sex of the chick.![]()
