I have a better idea. In the spring when you have a broody if Marty has not snuck off and hatched her brood yet. I suggest give the girl 4 eggs. 2 borrowed from where you board the horses and 2 from everyone's favorite power couple Mr. P and Marty.
Hahahaha yup that would work also 😊.

But the idea is get the eggs to YOU! Not me hahahaha - hmmmm I foresee a road trip in my near future šŸ˜†

Nice to see them sleeping together early. The other night I happened to see a bit of shenanigans when I checked on them. Hazel was sitting on the towel with Peanut, and pecking Popcorn's feet and toes as she was trying to stand on a corner of it. Popcorn hardly moved, just shifted a bit. Butters was in the nest box, she often starts out there. Hazel then squinched forward and got her head between Popcorn’s legs and lifted and pushed her sideways so that she had to step into the nest box. She settled there with Butters. Hazel and Peanut had the entire pad to themselves. Why was that necessary?

Why, that is The Way Of The Chicken. But you know, with these guys it’s all pretty mild.

So here is a nice view, they are looking very peaceful tonight, no fighting and all snuggled up with each other, it’s 13F now. Butters did start out in the nest box because she was there when I checked on them and closed the manual pop door. The camera is angled funny, I had moved it out of the way and forgot to right it, thinking the AutoDoor was bumping it and that’s why it thinks it’s blocked (nope).

They look like they are happily settled there.

I laughed when you described Hazel sticking her head between Popcorns legs and lifting her - my kiddos do that too. Last night I was down with the horses helping them bring horses in and do evening feed or and taking photos of their silkie Roo for Rebecca 😁😁

I would bet it's a hot water pipe. Do you have a shut-off valve for your water? If you're on a well I would kill the breaker or pull the disconnect to shut-off the pump. City water has a shut-off near the street typically.
Just curious why you would bet on a hot water pipe? I think I have found it - a baseboard heating pipe.
But way better than that is that the plumbers have agreed to come today. I am giddy with the idea of getting this fixed and turning on the water again, even though I will still face a long road of drying out, repairing etc.

Thanks. Yes. I cut off the outflow from the well as soon as I found the water pouring from the ceiling.
That is why I described it as camping in my house.
Hate not having water!
Oh darn! Yes I hear you, that sure does suck. Do you have a two story home? Is that why the ceiling is affected?

Well I sure hope that a plumber can come Today and help you, water is such an important thing - and I sure know about not having access to it.

I would clean her up, but then she’s back looking like that again the next day. She likes playing in the mud.
I have a few like that 🄰 they just love mud and dirt! And of course it’s always the white ones who look like a mud pile afterwards!

I’m sorry about that. Visalia is such a great place ! :lau
It’s 8C in Visalia, CA - brrrr! I am thinking that is not the place to retire if one wants warms sunny weather in the winter.

Hopefully your plumber will leave his butt crack at home and only bring his tools 🧰
(I’ve heard about that butt crack thing happening) but then there’s always a cure for butt crack…., 7C2BC918-F8AC-448B-BA7C-90A9BC804A34.jpeg
