Gosh, we are all on the roofing projects lately, aren’t we? 😂 I hope everyone stays dry and safe. I for one am not going up on my plywood until it’s dry… you can always stick buckets under a leak, but a huge slip and slide with a big drop is a hard pass
Very smart philosophy. 👍

For those of you who may need a chick fix here you go.
Notice the only rooster she is comfortable with being around. That's my boy. They are of course not his, I checked them carefully when I brought them off the hill but he does not care. If there are chicks, he is the daddy.
Eeeeee, so cute!

@TX Chick Noob

How are you and Miss Z doing? I hope she is getting on well and not too depressed. :hugs :hugs
Well Z seems to be doing ok. She is still coming up for morning treats which is really good, I was worried she may get more stand-offish with him gone. I have been having a rough time, partially from losing him and partially from DH and I both dealing with medical issues. Thanks for asking.

Also, update on the cat, she doesn't want to eat. My mom thinks she might be sick but we don't really know.

I do hope that cat is ok. Not eating isn’t good, please try to get her to a vet if that goes in for more than a day or so.

Dirt update.

Good news and bad news. The good news is he was not choking thank god. The bad news, he has pneumonia. I swear this horse was perfectly fine yesterday. Today he is coughing his head off, with just a slightly elevated temperature. A couple penicillin shots and I think it is maybe bute to keep his fever down and he will be fine. The vet went ahead and checked the other 2 boys, so far perfectly fine but will have to watch them as well now for signs of illness. I would love to know how the heck he got sick since he has not be around any other horses besides Russ and Louis since October.
So glad he will be ok.

Sorry I haven’t posted much lately, but I have been following along when I can.

Sure hope your feeling better soon and glad Miss Z is coping.

Love the babies so cute thanks for sharing.

Eventually, you won't be able to...also, if (when) someone goed broody, you may want to ba able to pick and choose which eggs she incubates. Those without the bloom won't incubate properly and those in the fridge won't develop.
Yea I know all that. When the time comes Ill have eggs ready for a broody hen. And the ones we dont eat we sell to the guys at my hubbies work plus friends and family
