Lacing was something else I wanted. I wasn't 100% sure I knew what it was, but I always think the Wyandottes look amazing and @MaryJanet has a lot of stunning lacing going on in her flock.
And now I have Babs I feel no need for a Wyandotte or Barnevelder for the lacing!

I mean look at Babs - she is gorgeous! Note also her green snakeskin boots.

Thank you, you are too kind. They hatched in an amazing variety of colors and patterns given all had the same dad, and there were only a couple of different moms! Quite the assortment of colors/patterns with the broody hatched!

@rural mouse mentioned there are just 2 color genes (red and black, I think) Amazing how just 2 colors genes can produce such variety in colors on the feathers!
Horses also have only red and black, but with a ton of modifiers (bay, dun, cream, etc). Genetically there is no such thing as a “brown” horse, they are a shade of red or a diluted black.
