Good morning FBA's. Got up and down since 130am. Got all 5 dogs fed and out and gave them medicines. Had a fresh cup of coffee.Gonna go check on the chicks soon and feed and water them. And feed the chooks early when the sun comes up since its warm out. Gonna be a toasty 77 degrees today.

I Didn’t… sorry, maybe once I get the house settled a bit better I will have time to update. I asked if anyone was interested in following a more house build discussion and did start a conversation, just to keep it from snowballing too much, or me spamming Fluffy Butt Acres with all my house updates and such. I haven’t been making much progress since last fall, but the kind folks encouraging me there are basically keeping me going when I am pretty sure I’d have tossed in the towel on it. Winter wasn’t particularly roofing friendly… but I’m going to get it done in 2023!
While I do not need a daily update on construction (I have plenty of my own to contend with in real life), I do so very much want to hear that you have a real roof over your head. Please don’t let another winter go by!

I just checked and Lucky is still alive. She moved off her heat pad and placed herself right under Flo’s arse. I moved the poop away and scooched Flo over. I offered baby bird formula. Lucky smacked her lips, but didn’t take any. At least the wind has calmed down and it hopefully will not dip below 36°F tonight.

It’s almost midnight, do I’m going to sleep. Nighties.
Good morning Michelle - It's early for you 4:30, but just read this. I will check in later 💕

Hi folks. Popping in. Sad to say Lucky is in her final days, if not hours. I could probably tube feed to keep her going a bit longer, but that would be cruel and prolong suffering.

It seems the other chickens know. Here she is with Little Mill sitting vigil before I left today.

I am so sorry about Lucky. Is she still with us this morning?

The big issue for @Kris5902 is the crazy weather this year in Western Canada; it just isn't normal for Kris to get sub-zero freezing weather and lots of snow. But she has had to contend with that - which makes roofing extremely dangerous! I think this week she is also getting more crazy cold weather.

Penelope likes to lay eggs in the Shavings bags :) ; @BY Bob - she used to lay blue eggs but they are getting lighter as she gets older.

Morning! :frow Dixie is trying to feed her chicks but they refuse to come out. With Isbe there was instinct and she knew exactly what to do, but she’s clearly confused on some bits of mothering. She’s calling them out but nobody is coming and i think its day 3? I’ll probably remove her from the nest and put her next to some food.
