That Roo of yours is sooooooo cute! and I love his saddle blanket marking. Like a Medicine Hat Paint horse (the top of the head on the horse has a dark cap) very distinctive! Your girl is looking for treats I bet!
So aweful to hear you so ill, I hear ya - I was really ill also with the evil covid - I vaccinate everything here for everything hahahaha so yep I get all my stuff also (I used to also get rabies as I was handling wildlife - we joke that I am getting my 'rabies shot' now). If I could vaccinate my chickens for everything I would.
But my backup large animal / horse Vet told me here in Ontario the vaccines are only given at commercial hatcheries and not 'backyard' flocks - WTH! that's ridiculous - in fact I find that the fact there is very little Veterinary care for backyard flocks awful!
When I hear about some here online that are trying to get Vet attention for their chickens I cry - it's such a sad thing. I feel so lucky and grateful that my small animal Vet has her own flock (and cattle and horses

) and she does some specialty work with birds in general. I know I will pay through the nose for Vet care for my wee charges but it is wonderful that I can take my kiddos to someone who knows poultry.
My primary Equine Vet (who is semi-retired) can and does get me meds and wormers for my chickens; I can also send fecal samples to a lab through him for testing for parasites. I am sure that he would 'take stab' at helping one of my kiddos if need be, he has been around the Vet world for a very long time, so I trust him if I needed help (of course half the year he is in Florida hahahaha hence my small animal Vet as my primary Chicken Vet).
Does anyone else have issue with Vet Care or getting meds? How about vaccinating - anyone get their chickens done, or purchase chicks who are vaccinated? Just curious as to what chickens can receive for preventive measures.
