Now that the eggs arrived safely I will say I would not trust my post office to have chicks shipped to me. Called them yesterday and left a message that I was expecting a package of hatching eggs and I needed to pick them up in person. Written on the box to call for in person pick-up. I gave it to 12:30 waiting on a phone call and called back. They are already in route to be delivered to my house . Apparently they can not relay messages or even read what is written on the box.
I am so sorry, shipped chicks or eggs is really nerve wracking!

Ya - you and me both! I am loving Rico he is such a character, so if I keep him, I can't have any more Roos.

Well mine is a rooster crowing.... and some extra bits-n-bobs.... :)

My cousin's boy just dropped by :) That's my cousin who gave me Blanche, Penelope and Sophia. He always drops by to see his girls when he is down here :)

Oh I am sooooo eggcited :) more chicks to look forward to.

On the one hand I am glad I didn't give Sophia any chicks, but on the other hand... well - chicks! who can resist!

Oh I would have so brought a couple Brahma pullets :)

I'd be fighting the chooks for the crust :)

My ringtone always sets them off.

You're so wicked Kelly haha 😄 🤣

I know it's Friday, but this is too funny. Taken last night. Havoc is VERY appropriately named.

That first picture!
:lau:lau:lau
I know! :lau :lau :lau I opened the door, they all froze. I stood there staring, then realized that needed to be photographed. Fumbled out my phone, fumbled through opening the camera and they stayed put. After I took the pic, Indigo sidled sideways trying to get Havoc (so aptly named...:gig:gig:gig) off. Had to scrape her back against the stud to get Havoc off. Then Nellie went for Havoc with the adult "don't roost by me" . Havoc flew over to the nest boxes and Nellie went for Indigo the same way. Nellie has been a mite cranky lately. I suspect that's how Havoc came to be on Indigo: trying to get away from Nellie. (Based upon sounds heard while walking up to the door)

You mayyy want to check under wings for the missing egg 😂 Brownie did that with eggs and chicks! Tucked them right up in there.
Yes!!! Curly and Fluffy did that with the silkie chicks! They were so small they just tucked right up there. I could find one of the chicks so I hauled Fluffy out and plop, out plopped a chick from under her wing 😁

Gosh I miss having tiny wee chickies - i should have given Sophia some chicks….

Heat has been pretty brutal.

Hooman, why is it so hot!?! Make it stop!

But the girls have been enjoying their HydroHen/blueberry “popsicles”. Here is a ziplock bag full of them.

I put them in the base of a waterer. Sometimes I add a little water.

Pretty warm here past few days, have had the two box fans full blast, last night Henny Penny was just standing in front of it with her feathers ruffling 😊 I wish I had my phone with me to take a photo. Poor Henny Penny really feels the heat.
