Is Agathae OK?
Recently, Agathae went broody. She wants to hatch, but she is sitting on dirt. I've noticed that since the beginnings of being broody she has looked really ratty. She was trying to nap on my desk.

Medicated feed has Amprol in it which is a thiamine inhibitor, coccidia require thiamine to survive, so the Amprol blocks thiamine uptake and prevents coccidia from propagation.

There is no required egg withdrawl period in the US but here in Canada there is a 14 day withdrawl period. Last year I fed medicated chick starter to my grups and ate the eggs and I was fine 😁

This year because I sell eggs - and I am hard pressed to find an All Flock feed I am stuck feeding an mix of my layer and purina start and grow (terrible stuff is nothing but dust!) as a wet mash - I need to find a good grower but it’s really difficult - impossible really. And forget about an all flock.
I can relate - I can't get an organic all flock anywhere around here - my local feed store can't even order it through their supplier. So, I mix an organic soy free layer with an organic pellet grower to make my 'all flock'. The brand I use (which I like for those 2 things) only makes a mash for a starter feed, which gets wasted, so I have to buy the only other organic starter I can find locally, which is 25% more expensive - but at least there is little waste. I wish it was a bit higher protein...but it is what it is. I had bought an organic game bird crumbles that I used to mix with the starter to bump up the protein - I had to order it to be shipped - but haven't even been able to get that as it is on back-order since the first bag.:( With the amount of mixed flocks, you would think they would make all flock! But, I suppose I should be happy - until the pandemic and everyone buying a few backyard chickens, I had to order organic feed online - and though there is 'free shipping', you know darn well that the shipping cost is already built into the price. I really liked that feed and that company, but since I am actually supporting my flock (selling their eggs does not even come close to them paying for themselves! They might pay for their bedding, but not their pricy feed!) So, unfortunately buying the expensive stuff and having it shipped for everyone is just out of the question.

Have you tried New Country Organics? That is what I feed the chooks.

Ugh! The audacity! How dare she! Oh dear, is she under age? That's even worse!!!
Although, I'll join her for the pizza!!
I think she is old enough to drink. Remember, she just turned 7. In chicken years, that is at least 55, so I'm pretty sure she is okay on that front.

I bet she will have trouble popping the cork on her own, though - so she will have to bribe Alex to pour her a drink by promising to share the wine with him. She may even have to share the pizza, since she did peck in HIS credit card number when ordering!:lau:lau:lau

Did she use one of these BeakBerries? They have the perfect keyboard for beaks.
